Sent from the Father by the Risen Lord, the Holy Spirit bestows manifold gifts on the Church in order to accomplish Christ’s work: the glorification of the Father and the salvation of the world. One such gift is the vocation to Missionary Benedictine religious life, which is a particular way of living the Gospel and is rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict. Fr. Andreas Amrhein, our founder, wanted to renew the idea of mission in the Benedictine tradition. In 1885, he founded a community to proclaim the kingdom of God among those people who have not yet heard the Gospel.
The community came to be known as
"Congregation of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing".
